You already know how to cast-on, knit and purl. You also can knit the four main patterns: garter stitch, stockinette stitch, ribbing and seed stitch. You can already knit yourself a scarf, but… how do we bind-off stitches?
Today I’m going to
show you how to bind-off. As it also happened with casting on, there are
different ways of binding off. One of them could be better of another depending
on what we want to do with the garment after that. The bind-off I am going to
show you today is the easiest one, and gives us a finishing similar to the
cast-on I have already shown you. In this short video you can see how to bind-off when knitting garter stitch.
If we are knitting a
pattern alternating knit and purl stitches, like seed stitch, we will knit each
stitch as needed and we will bind-off the stitches in the same way. A video is
usually more useful than words.
And this way we will
bind-off any pattern we were knitting.
And now, you can
completely knit a scarf.
