Yarn necklaces. Charleston design.

   Who has said that jewelry can not be made with yarn?

    

   I love earrings, necklaces, bracelets... And I love everything that is not common. Those things you can not buy at any shop. Yarn is light and is usually cheaper than metals, thus allowing you to have a wider variety of accesories for you to wear.

   

   To make our accesories we can use knitting, crochet, tatting or the French knitter or knitting doll. What is a knitting doll? It is a tool that allows you to make yarn cords. We can find diferent sizes, although they are called loom when they are big enough.

   

   This is the one I have. I bought it at Tiger Store at a very reasonable price. If you are interested in how to use it, let me know and I will make an entry about that. 

         

      As soon as I began to use it, ideas for necklaces came to my mind. Today I'm going to show you one of my designs.

   

   I have called this design Charleston, because it reminds me the Twenties style, with all those tassels and really long necklaces. Maybe when you see them they're going to remind you of something different, but you know, mind is a mistery.

Charleston Design. Green and violet.

    The yarn used for this necklace is 70% polyester and 30% nylon. The longest strand measures 77 cm / 30 inches.

Charleston Design. Black and silver.

   The yarn used for this necklace is 78% viscose, 15% polyamide, and 7% polyester. The longest strand measures 67 cm / 26 inches.

Charleston Design. Silver.

   The yarn used for this necklace is 70% polyester and 30% nylon. The longest strand measures 78 cm / 31 inches.

Charleston Design. Pale pink and gold.

   The yarn used for this necklace is 83% viscose and 17% polyester. The longest strand measures 50 cm / 20 inches.

Charleston Design. Brick red tones.

   The yarn used for this necklace is 70% polyester and 30% nylon. The longest strand measures 60 cm / 24 inches. 

   

   All the yarns used are made in Spain. As you can see, necklaces with different number of strands, different lengths, and different colours can be made. I know where to find some of this yarns in the same or different colours. However, there are some yarns I only have that on my stock, because the shop where I bought them is now closed. I haven't find where to buy them yet.
