Double knitting cowls

Some days ago I talked you about double knitting. From the moment I discovered it, I have loved it. I find it very useful for those projects were both sides are going to be right sides, and you don't want the strands of different colours changes to be shown. In addition, it gives you double garments, as you obtain two different sides. One is the negative image of the other, the main colour on one side is the secondary colour on the other.
So I began knitting. The first thing I decided to do were some cowls. It would have been easier to begin with a scarf, as it is knitted with straight needles, and not with circular ones. But as I have already told you, and you will see, I don't always follow the logical sequence. I usually make things as I think about them. Cowls can be simple, just one turn, like these ones I am showing you today. Cowls can also be two or more turns.
After some attemps I finally get the finishing I was looking for. Neat cast-on and bind-off, not mixed colours. Neat round knitting, with no gaps in the joint.
And then it was the time to experience designs. First I knitted a geometric design cowl. I chose some bright colours, yellow and green like the Brazilian flag.

And the other side has alternate colours.

Here you can see both sides at the same time.

For the next one I chose some abstract drowing, some circles and dots... For this one I chose burgundy and lilac colours.

And finally I tried with a recognizable design : an owl. I knitted them in burgundy and light grey.

And for you to see how them look like when you wear them, I show you some photos of myself wearing one of them.

All of them are knitted with 100% acrylic yarn, made in Spain. The measurements are 60 cm (24") diameter and 21 cm (8") width.
If you like them, just contact me, they are for sale. If you want them with other colours, or you want some other design, tell me, and we will see what can be done.
