Now you already master knit, let's go for the next basic stitch : purl. And again I show you in a video, I hope you can follow the images besides the Spanish audio.
Once we already know how to purl, we can do a new stitch: stockinette stitch. You can get this stitch if you knit all the stitches in a row, and then you purl all the stitches in the following row. And you continue like that all the way you want to be stockinette stitch. One row knit, one row purl. This is not a reversible stitch, each side of the stitch is different, as you can see in the following image. One of the sides is more plain, and this is the side usually considered the right or front side. The other one, the one having small waves, is usually considered the wrong or back side.
Really there's not right or wrong side, it only depends on what side you want to be shown on your garment. If you want the smooth side to be shown (the one that is usually considered the front or right side) you just have to knit the rows when you're knitting the side to be shown. On the contrary, if you want the wavy side (the back or wrong side) to be shown, you have to purl the rows when you're knitting the side to be shown.
And we already know basic stitches. With them, we can already knit quite several patterns, motifs and designs.
What do you want me to explain in the next tutorial? More stitch patterns or how to bind off?
