Many countries celebrate the Father’s
Day on the third Sunday of June, but in Spain (and other countries) we
celebrate it the 19th of March.
Although I’m writing this entry due to Father’s Day in Spain, any day is a good day to give a present to your dad, isn’t it?
As March is still cold (we
have a proverb in Spain: Don’t take your coat off till the 40th of
May), a scarf is a good present to wrap up them warm. And if the scarf is hand knitted and the design is specially chosen for him, it’s
going to be a much more personal present.
I’m going to show you some scarfs for men (not only fathers are
cold, but also the rest of men ;-) From very simple ones, for those of you
beginning to knit, to others a bit more complicated and with a more flashy
finishing.
And if you don’t knit, but you
think this scarf you’re looking at is perfect for this person you’re thinking
of, don’t doubt, contact me.
First some scarfs knitted with
ribbing stitch. It’s a basic stitch, but it is perfect for those people who
like simple designs. Being simple don’t make them less beautiful.
In this one a changing colour
yarn has been used to give a showier finishing.

Or we can use thicker yarn for
the stitch to be appreciated, using just one colour or combining colours

We can choose a pattern that produces a design when knitting. As we are
knitting a scarf, we’ll look for reversible stitches. For example, we can use a
pattern that remind of a chess board.

Or this that shows a triangular design.

We can knit a scarf with a diagonal design. This one was made for my godfather.

Personally, I love scarfs with cables. If you make reversible cables, the result is great, and you can make different combinations, as those I'm showing you.
